Emil Nolde, born Emil Hansen, was a German-Danish painter and printmaker, known for his vivid and expressive works. He was born on August 7, 1867, and died on April 13, 1956. Nolde was associated with the Expressionist movement and was a member of the group Die Brücke (The Bridge) in Dresden.
